Allison 6sp: C3 Cooling

so found something the other day about drilling some holes to get oil to C3 to cool it and lubricate it better. is this a good thing to do ?

Im about to start building my 6 Speed with one of evans kits and converters. and after seeing the mod for c3 for extra cooling and lubricating. might be worth doing it while the trans is apart.

just need to get a hold of the drill template/tool

I’m in same boat as you. I ordered the pto covers and jig to drill the holes from goerend along with a deep pan. Also going to be using Evans kit and his 1078 converter!

haha yeah same here, just about to do a massive order from DHD and saw the pto covers and it got me interested. yeah im keen as for his kit and converter

I don't think it hurts. Any extra cooling goes a long ways.

You need to contact Evan or explain what the mod is you plan to do. There have been many different ideas over the years for c3’s

Drilling the holes into the case and using covers as I tell all my customers doesn’t do a thing. I’ve done the real world testing and never had it do a thing. It sounds great but that’s about it.

Call me I’ll have new option that’s proving to work great. I like to real world test things before giving them to my customers not just hope some meaningless transmission dyno runs look good.

It most certainly is still needed in the high hp trucks it just has to be approched properly.

Cheers for that evan, would call you mate but bit hard when im from Australia. so will have to shoot you an email. im interested in the option will do anything i can to make this trans as tough as i can.
also i understand you dont ship international. im going to be using a freight forwarding company to get the parts sent from you to here.
