Truck is capable of 8-900HP and 95% of the time street driven.

Does anyone at all run the thin black steels in C2? Just exactly how common is it for the thin steels to wear into the case? Local builder insists on running the thin steels.
If I pursue the thick steels, what ideal clutch material should I be using with them , and should I have any problems holding that kind of power?

Thanks

Do not run the thin kolene whoever is telling you that is clueless and wants you to ruin your drum. All thick and either GPZ or G3 will hold just fine.

Most of the metal parts in the Allison are made of soft steel to save on tooling. The Kolene steels will cut through the drum like a hot knife in butter. Don't use them.

As said above, do not run the Kolene steel in C2. The drum is very soft and the hard Kolene steel will kill them in no time. Also as Evan said, GPZ or G3 will both hold well in that clutch pack.
