Goodies from Rawtek showed up today.

Wife's been complaining about bad mileage. CEL was on and said O2 sensors bad. So I figure its time to delete the DPF.

The Rawtek stuff is beautiful 304 stainledd but pricey. Another brand was a little cheaper but single piece and 409. Im never selling this car so I stuck with the 304 and figured it would be easier yo install.

Sending ECM out for Stage II Malone tuning.

Should be a new animal soon.

Just got your snapchat of this Vinny...sweet! :thumb:

Post up how the tune is once you get it. My buddy has a 2012 A3 TDI and is seriously considering DPF-delete with Malone tuning...

I've been debating this aswell but with the new emmissions testing in NY and diesel cars they don't know if will pass with deletes etc. I was told the new computers have to check all yr emission sensors and make sure they work.

The deletes for these keep all of the sensors live. Whether or not it would pass I dont know though.

Its pretty pricey for.what you get. About $1,400 just for parts tuning and shipping but oh well.

this all makes the hybrid that much more attractive to me. Seems like the mileage is hit or miss

She was getting 45mpg by hand when we first got it. Down to 35mpg now.

Its a 6spd manual and she drives over 120 miles a day between jobs and such.

The dash must read the tank level and distance traveled because it follows hand calculated averages pretty closely.

mine has 160k and i get 44 on my recent tank.. but i am haven a problem with camber and there is no camber adjustment on these cars!!!! adjustable ball joints are 300.. so i dont drive it to much lately since they are both out 1.5-1.2 on camber and just chew my tires up on the inside

i was told either lower arms are bent or the springs for the struts are shot.. i have been really debating on what i wanna throw money at. you can easily spend more in labor then parts, since i have no time with my work schedule to work on it..

very sorry to thread jack. once my tuning guy does a emmisions check on a malone stage 2 tdi and it passes he will let me know and ill get my tunes. i was qouted 750 for tunes and vag-com installed in one day

VWs are cheap up front but you either have to like fixing them yourself or have deep pockets. Parts arent cheap and their labor rates are high.

I personally like workkng on them thouvh

Still has the factory cat back exhaust which is smaller and has a muffler, but we will see how it sounds. I'll get a cat back exhaust for it soon, and then if its too "annoying" I will add a resonator.

Got everything together tonite. ECM should be back tomorrow morning, I ruined an EGT sensor though, it wouldn't come out and ended up ruining the lower half of the threads hopefully the dealer has on in stock and I can pick it up tomorrow. Then I'll get to test it all out.
