buying or selling thru ebay

has anyone ever bought or sold something through ebay that wasnt actually for sale on ebay? do they work as a hub for buying and selling? i found a truck on craigs list and this is how the person wants to sell the truck.

im in vegas and the truck is in new york. the seller will ship the truck to me at their cost to drive and test for 15 days. i pay ebay the price of the truck and upon my approval ebay pays the seller. if i pass on the truck ebay refunds my full amount and the seller pays to ship the truck back. i have an email into ebay about this also but was just wondering if anyone has heard of or done it this way. thanks

Atleast you did not fall for it:thumb: ITs crazy how many scams there are out there today, :WTF2: I would never pay for a Craigslist item site on seen, that site is full of spam and scam artist's. E-bay is generally pretty safe if you do a little re-search on the seller before comitting and use Paypal as a deposit and bank to bank transfer's on larger purchases that you cant see in person.. But If possible I always try an give a deposit and drive/fly out to see bigger purchases in person if I can. That being said I have bought a couple vehicles off E-bay site on seen and thankfully everything went well..
