I just solved my hard upper rad hose by changing my cap on the degas bottle. Now I'm on to problem two - no heat since I flushed the coolant in the truck. I know I have a bubble to burp somewhere.
I bought one of those huge yellow funnels and just tried to burp the system, but I can't get a single bubble, and of course still no heat.
It's in the 50's outside, so I was revving the truck and trying to heat it up. I managed to get it up to 187* for a few seconds, but that was literally flogging the shit out of her. The lower hose is still only barely warm and the upper is hot. No air at the thermostat bleeder BTW. If I just let it idle I was at like 164* I think.
So, is ECT sensor's reported 187* enough to open the t-stats? Or do I need to get it hotter? I'm trying to decide if they are bad and I need to change the stats, or if I just get the coolant hotter to properly open them.
