I just ordered 20x10 Fuel Histages with 305/50×20 Toyo Proxy ST IIS and need to start making room for them. Truck will be lowered once they get here.
Started with this.

Got the grill and bumper removed.

These are the two brackets that will need to be cut, as marked.

I made the initial cuts with a Sawzall then bent the tab back and forth until it broke off.

Brackets bolted back on with 12-1.75 x80mm bolts and 2 1/4 inches of stacked washers for spacing.

Bumper and grill is back on. I still need to drill new holes for the brackets on both outer ends of the bumper to alleviate the sagging. I used a jigsaw and followed the bottom of the chrome part of the grill to remove the black plastic spacer strip. I need to cut on the back side with a cut off wheel at the corners of the center section of the grill. Fairly easy job that took about 4.5 hours to complete.

I followed Cornell's thread on GM Full-sized forum so all the credit goes to him for the initial legwork.

Looks good. I really wanted to lift my mine, but it grew on me the way it is. Its bad enough some guys ask me if it's a diesel when it's sitting there idling. Can't have it look like a 1/2ton too.

when i raised my lbz bumper. i cut notch in bracket. welded new tabs and a tube spacer all together. so its like it came that way from factory. same setup as yours, but i didnt like the washers. same end result tho either way.

i dont like any kind of spacer under that bolt. it will not fair well if you ever actually have to use the bumper lol. not that the stock frame mount is all that ridged but atleast gives you back stock strength and not less of it

ive done two and this is what i do. you cut the tab the stacked washers go under, move it down so its flush with the frame horn, weld it back to the bracket, then add some gussets. much sturdier unit but you have to be able to weld or take it somewhere.
