Did crank break where the cracked piston is? I don't have any solid data but I won't run a crank that has had a cracked piston. Twice now I've had the crank break shortly after. First wasn't mag'd, second was.

I don't believe the massive imbalance helps these cranks. Should note both my cases, cyl 1 was the cracked piston so that probly didn't help any either

I'm not sure I haven't gotten it taken down but I would venture to say no. Number 8 had the cracked piston. It's broke up front. I reused my crank in my lb7 after melting/cracking a piston on my second 10 sec run. Never had a problem with the crank.

Not sure I'd reuse the block. There is a salvage yard up in Ohio packed full of Duramax trucks. I was like a kid in a candy store.
Do you know the name of this heaven on earth you speak of?
