Have about 8k miles on my trans. Every now and then it doesn't want to shift around 30-35mph. Very random but it holds the gear till foot is raised. Any help will be appreciated and I said something to my builder.

Correct me if I am wrong. Didn't Dmitri build your transmission not that long ago, and you stood up defending him?

Mine did that after DTS built it. Randomly wouldn't shift from 2-3. Let off the throttle and it was fine. This was normal driving. I'm not sure what was doing it, I had smoked clutches when Evan tore the old one down. Evans trans doesn't skip a beat.

D did build it. I think he's an alright guy from when I met him. Just asking a question lol

Not an issue at all sir see more threads with him leaving people out to dry, with that Industry leading warranty/customer service he offers. Hope you get it figured out and squared away rather quickly.

What'd your builder have to say?

Not quite sure why this is the first thing people ask when there's a trans question. Yeah it would've been good to know from the get go that he was waiting on his builder to get back to him, but why not offer help. Me personally wouldn't ask on a issue if someone else did the work, it's the builders responsibility. Just funny how someone could've had their engine built and 500 miles later have a knock and you don't see "what's your builder have to say?" Not picking on you personally, just don't understand I guess.

Because some people like to come on here asking questions with never mentioning it to the builder... Better to let the builder know before you go intentionally or accidentally bashing his work regardless of what kind of craftsmanship he offers.

Just trying to get it figured out. Got the scanner on it and everything looks ok. No codes. I was wondering if it's something simple in the valve body or anything like that. I like to do my own work so I guess that plays a part in it.

It is almost impossible to diagnose a trans after someone else built it. The slightest mistake inside can cause all kinds of problems and throw codes that mean nothing.
For instance; there are no codes for wrong clearance in a clutch pack, loose end play, weak pump, upside down sun gear etc. It take much more time trying to figure out what the so called builder did wrong.
The only way to properly diagnose someone else work is to strip the trans down and put it together properly so you have a starting point. As far as diagnosing a DIY trans; God only knows what's wrong. I've seen some crazy shit put together.

I don't know if its the OP's issue, but since he mentioned it... Yes, switching between DSP tunes can result in erratic shifting patterns. Especially when there is a sizable change in HP between the tunes.

Haha I agree mike. Wasn't sure if this is common or not. I got ahold of Evan. I guess I'll play with the tech II for a few hours this weekend and see what I can come up with.

This is why I don't run DSP tunes... Load the big tune, watch the gauges, adjust the throttle as needed:D
