Be careful with the LBZ/LMM rods. If you go any higher than what you are thinking, or have a little more aggressive tuning than you think, you will be doing it all again.

Ask AubleAK....

Yes i agree save up and do the aftermarket rods. Lb7 pistons are good for 900 or so i made 1000hp on mine and got some good mileage out of them before one finally cracked. All you need is a lift pump, good rods, small nozzles, good tuning, head studs and a aftermarket turbo and your in the 650hp range easy and you will need a built trans. Thats a good budget build. If your going to tear it all down look into key the crank, cam too.

If all your looking at doing is 600-650 then Lbz rods are plenty with good tuning. Why spend 2000+ more for rods when you aren't gonna use them. That is of course if you will TRUELY stay at 650.

It it pay not even see 650 for right now ill be running a stock one and if im not happy with it I would. Upgrade but in such a light vehicle I don't think it will take to much to run 11s

I don't see any reason to ever tear apart a bottom end and not put good aftermarket rods back in if you are going north of 500 hp. Just my opinion.

because maybe some people dont have the money nor the want/need to go above what lbz rods can handle..

What parts are you using to make it a budget build? Are you doing a complete build?
just curious as I will be doing a build sometime soon
