I guess I'm taking the plung into the built motor world. I'm expecting the block back from the machine shop Wednesday, then assembly will start. Build consists of Carrillos, PPE 15.5/1 cast race pistons, 3388 SoCal cam, SoCal Stage 1 heads, MA pushrods, Socal dampner, billet flexplate, head & main studs, 100 % Exergy injectors, dual fuelers with modded LBZ pumps. I'll be running our DP 72mm as a single for awhile then possibly twin it later.....

It was a tough decision. I guess my budget and we will get to see how the round pistons react vs the fingers on compression ratio.

Are the CNC ported head a must to get into say the 800-850 range? or will stock heads do?

Stock heads with valve springs and pushrods would probably be fine.

Very true!!!! He's 1000 pounds lighter, but my 4 wheel drive comes off the line a whole lot faster than his. Lol

Congradulations, You to guys are gonna be in trouble due the fact they are so close in build.
You are just gonna have to do side by side testing.
I think you should go ahead and do the wastegated turbine housing. I wish I had one and it will be a cool comparison on top end.
