I watched it on youtube, and I thought it looked like it could go either way. I thought Lesner was getting beat on pretty good, but I didn't think it looked like he didn't know what was going on. He looked to be pushing Velasquez's face away, trying to get some separation, when Dean stopped the fight. It's a hard call to make for sure, but I always like to see a guy out or see him tap when the fight ends. That way there is no doubt.
Either way, Lesner was getting his ass handed to him.
Couldn't agree more. I say what I do about Dean based on a few calls I've seen him make. Lesnar was getting pounded, no doubt, but we've seen him take that or worse and still come back.
I just hate seeing a ref call a fight. Let the round finish (it had :45 seconds left) and make the call in rd 2. If he cant recover by then, the fights over.
