Break In Oil or just the regular

Just about ready to try and start a motor that has just been built....Does anyone use break in oil....to start with or does everyone just use regular 15-40.....thanks mike

i used lucas break in oil but changed to 15-40 with additive shortly after...

I wouldnt think that using break in oil would do any harm...but was wondering what the rest has done

I've been running rotella t 15w-40 since day one in mine. Thats even what the engine builder put in it when i had my motor built

thanks for the info....It looks like I will be using maybe royal purple break-in oil for the first few miles....

But with amsoils extended drain intervals, you can run up to 2xoem or 22000 miles!

Any 15-40 is fine, because after the first 5 mins of running, id change it again.

That's nothing; my grandfather used to run Amsoil for 3 BILLION miles, and when he did a compression test, his motor actually had 230psi MORE compression than factory!!!
