Well it did it once last year and the boot was all looking good but this time it killed it and I have no clue if the parts that came off went into the intercooler or not. So keep an eye on your turbo and intercooler boots or they could end up like this one. Also I think it messed my turbo up a bit I will have to take a better look this weekend.

And you can see I need to take care of the PVC reroute soon too

Looks like I will be pulling it to see then as I don't want to go pass the heater

Blowing a boot can (often) overspeed the turbo, which leads to bye bye turbo.

hope you didnt hurt the turbo. :(

Crap well maybe time for an upgrade lol.

How much boost are you running?

Well this tune I have set to a max of 39psi (going by my gauge that is right after the turbo so pre-intercooler) but the other day I was running a new tune I have been working on and saw 44 but cut it back as we all know that is a bit much for the stock turbo.

Thanks. I run right around 32-34 PSI (on the gauge), I was curious to see if there was any reason for me to put an extra boot under the back seat for "just in case".

I would like to dyno the truck one day with the hood open and see how much the engine torques over and how big the boots "grow". Just something i'd thought about before.

There's really no need to run that much boost on a stock turbo. If I were you, I would back it down to 32 or so.

I have no idea what mine sees for boost, but the truck's mostly stock. Found this the other day...
