boost pid vs gauge

Should the turbo boost pressure (BOOST_DMA) PID match what my gauge says? The reason im wondering is my truck runs awesome with the new tunes, but my actual mechanical gauge might peak at 30 psi. The actual boost pid max on my 0-80 log was 52.8. Im wondering if my tube isnt cracked or has a small hole in it. Any thoughts?

where is your gauge tapped at? hot side or cold side? when you hold the throttle steady at 50% does boost pressure remain constant or does it slowly drop?

Ok accelerating at 50% it holds pretty steady except for shifts, and in 4x4 holding the breaks it will stay pretty steady as well

hmmm.....when you're WOT are you smoking pretty good or is it just a light haze/smokless? anyway you can check rail pressure? you could just not be fueling properly. with this 472 i see spikes to 50 sometimes and it settles to 45ish.

Maybe im thinking wrong but the veins in my stock turbo pretty much regulate my boost pressure? according to efilive turbo vane target position description...
A lower percentage will open the vanes (less boost), a higher percentage will close the vanes (more boost). Does that completely change everything being twinned with an s475?

Yeah rail pressure desired max is 23000 something and actual max spiked to 26000, but averaged 22800 ish. The only time it smokes at all is when i lug it at wot it is extremely clean.

id say you have some kind of fueling issue or your tunes are very conservative. if you had any kind of boost leak you would see lots of smoke when you're WOT. as for the vanes, im not to savvy with vgt turbos. could be a vane position sensor. log your vane position
