Boost Leak - Any thoughts?

I'm thinking I might pressure check mine as well.... I can actually just slightly see the first o-ring on my bridge. Then again, when I built those IC pipes I have been getting slightly more boost if anything... so I don't "think" it's leaking. In Theory it should really only take 1 of those o-rings!

But pressure testing is a great idea. As far as plugging the exhaust, lets here some ideas on a quick/easy way to do that?

Start with pressure testing the system. You'd be shocked how the boots can leak. I am still amazed at it.

It's kind of funny isn't it that a silicone boot cannot seal 100% so they all have acceptable leak tolerances?

They can but I think you be suprised how some needed tightened more after you cranked them pretty good. GM has a leakdown tolerance for the IC but I do not know it

The spec for the system test is 26 psi with the regulator set at 30 psi

Thanks for the tips guys. Found the leak(s). Looks like we have to clean up some welds. Pressurized the system to the equivalant of 22psi boost (that all my compressor could manage ) and it appears the joint between the flange and pipe is leaking and the flange may have a high spot on it causing it to leak there as well. But on the bright side, the elbow didn't seem to push out of the bridge at all. And I got the #236 O-Rings and the albow seemed to go into the bridge a bit easier.

Well I went out and pressure tested again. I had roughly 28 pounds and leaked down to 25 in afew minutes... I think my gauge was bad. Well I know it is now anyway since I tightened it up It wont read any pressure anymore lol. Even with all the leaks I've had (some have been nery very very very small) thats why I was so frustrated and couldnt figure out why I couldnt get past 25psi boost).. Anyway I never guessed that my gauge could be wrong. (Its an autometer ultra lite 1 0-35), and I'd say its 4 years old only. Now when I get my new gauge I don't know what I'll do if I cant get up to 33 psi... I'll prolly sell the truck

Well I dont think I'll do that, but I'll be mad still :D

I just ran head to head with a 3rd gen dodge with only an s06 smarty goin from 80 because I get 25psi. Does anyone know someone close to me that can fix my leak or figure out what else is wrong that is trustworthy? I'm about to drive all the way to Fleece or Danville to get this thing fixed:mad::mad::mad:
