I have read so many posts on here I cant remember half the stuff. I recently bought a 2005 CC/SB duramax. I have no idea what kind of HP they have stock but it is a dog compared to last truck I had.

I dont want to spend any money or do any work and would like about 650 HP. :roflmao:

Ok now back to reality. I would be happy with lets say 400-450 HP range. I figure from what I have read. I need lbz induction kit, fuel pressure relief valve, egr blocker plate, programmer, exhaust. My questions are what else would I need and how much HP can the stock tranny take and how much should I spend for this approx.?

What was your last truck? In stock configuration ,apples to apples, the Duramax is better then the competition.

Last truck was 03 duramax with edge programmer, 4 in exhaust and cold air intake. It just seemed to run really good. It was pretty low geared though witch probably made a big difference in the low end power.

Never heard of special ordering different gear ratios from the factory?? Like Josh said, the LBZ intake makes a huge difference in the LLY along with a little tranny work will help as well. Don't have to get crazy but a Transgo Jr kit is a good start. Lots of good tuners, just tell them what you want. A autocal loaded with some good EFI Live tunes from a good tuner won't break the bank, should help increase your power, help it run cooler and your mileage. I had a 05 EC/Dually that I did this to, Josh actually put a trans go in it along with some tierod sleeves and raced it. Ran hot and was pretty gutless until we did these mods, was a great tow rig for the race trailer for two years.

A Transgo Jr kit? Does a mod like this take a complete tranny tear down or just vavle body?

TransgoJr is not going to help you on your 5speed, they are meant for the 6speeds. You would need to pull the trans to install a transgo kit to do any good and if you go that far you might as well build it up.
