get some jacks out and lift the cab. You'd be surprised with how high you can get the cab in relatively little time.

what do i all need to disconnect? the chuck wont grab the drill bit to the point where it will spin without wobbling. ill see if i can fiddle with it more this was late last night after a long day and putting my truck on the tow truck myself and then having me and my friend pull the tow truck out of my snowy driveway, and towing my truck up the driveway ourselves. PITA

When doing broken bolt extraction, it is always best to remove the item and put it on a drill press or mill. Bolt "extractors" are generally excellent at making things worse, since they are hardened steel once you snap one it's EDM time. What they don't tell you about extractors, is that they can stretch the metal outward and make it even tighter. Johnny is right about left-hand drills. They are the safest way to remove bolts snapped flush.

On the Garrett "R" chargers there is an oil restricter in the top of the feed. Do not modify it.

Oh, if you don't have an extractor, and want to use one, get a "torx" bit instead. Drill the hole .010" smaller than the torx OD, put a short c'bore on the entry with a drill the size of the torx, and hammer it in.

I dont know if a cut bit will be sharp enough? I will try and get a really short left hander. This is just a PITA because the firewall is pretty much right over top where I need to drill. I tried extractors and they broke

They also sell right angle drills . Had to buy one to do a stripped head bolt next to firewall on old chevy . Couldnt get a regular drill in there , so bought a right angle one .

Stewie has a good point with lifting the cab , even though its a bitch .

Pats right about them damn extractors spreading the broken bolt out and making it even tighter and harder to get out . I really have had good luc with the right hand drill . Your drilling and suddenly it just pops out .

Good Luck Jordan

I have a right angle drill adapter. So the bolt is 8 mil. What size bit and torx? I'll also try the left handers. Worse case I'll just drill it all the way out.

Well, you can take the bit of proper size and snap off the extra lenth you dont need. BUT you need to use the piece witn the shank on it and with a bench grinder, put a new point on it. Needs the shank or it wont chuck-up straight. Properly re-sharpening a bit especialy from a broke end can be a PITA somtimes but if you have or can borrow a
Drill Doctor machine, thats much easyier! Good luck Jordan:hug:

Ok we got it all drilled out. Tried the torx head trick, and it seemed like it would work but the bolt was seized from being sheared and drilled on. My sisters husband came up to help me, he cut the bit down and sharpened it with a grinder. He grew up in a machine shop and can sharpen a bit by hand better than I can with a machine. Next step is to tap it.
