I was driving down the highway today and one of the bolts that holds down my oil feed flange broke off. Now I can't get the broken part out. the extractor broke off inside it and the bolt is below the surface so I can't weld a nut on the end of it. I don't know what else to do. Can you just tap the feed for the 90 instead of using the flange?

I don't have a GT40, so with a grain of salt...

I run an oil line into a 90* with is threaded directly into the cartrige.

the way the feed is for the GT40 that wont work. I think im just going to try to find a short ass drill bit tomorrow and drill and tap a new hole. I couldnt believe the bolt somehow sheared off...

Your going to have a tough time trying to drill through a hardened extractor:(

Only way with my experience to get a broken extractor out is by drilling around it. Tough to do without buggering threads unless you have lots of room to work with before you get to the outside edge of the broken bolt.

Cut a drill bit in half . ?

Reverve cut drills work well to get broken bolts out . They generally come out while drilling . I have a set that have saved my ass many times .

if you get a drill bit extractor set it comes with left hand drill bits and some nice extractors. Maybe you can use one of those... just tap in and twist out.....

like this....

I dont know if a cut bit will be sharp enough? I will try and get a really short left hander. This is just a PITA because the firewall is pretty much right over top where I need to drill. I tried extractors and they broke

Use the half of the bit that has the tip the bit came with. I've used drill bits like this before, should work out for ya.
