For some reason my box sits higher than the cab when looking at the body lines. Attached is an older picture where you can kind of see it and when I get home I will try to add a picture of it as it sits in my garage right now. It is worse now.

I don't believe the frame is bent as the top of the box is about the same distance away from the cab at the bottom. Are my cab mounts shot? I did notice a popping noise when I made sharp off camber turns into parking lots and driveways etc. Not sure if that's an indicator of a bad cab mount or not.

Gm makes an updated mount for the rear one, supposed to help fix this issue. From what I hear it is worse on the ccsb. There is a few places I've found info on it...oddly enough over on duramax forum

I'm quite certain it is the body mounts and I bet they have been pounded out as early as when the truck was only 3 years old going by some of the older pics I have. Not sure I want to put the stock junk back in based on that.

I looked on Energy's site but can't find the body mount kit others have mentioned in other forums so not sure if they make it anymore. Also when I did look online at GMpartsdirect.com their description is confusing as they only talk about EC nothing about RC and CC unless they are all the same and the EC just gets shims as needed or something.

According to their vehicle fitment that kit does not fit '05 or newer trucks. Not sure if the LB7 was different from the rest of the classic body styles or not.

Straight from their catalog, it says 01-06. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work with all classic body style trucks.

I went back and checked and it seems up to '06 the only difference is a couple of bolts but the bushings according to GM are all the same from '03-'06. I might have to give Energy a call next week.

Just so you know, it'll make your truck rattle. You can really feel every vibration.

Not sure other than the different bolts used on the LBZ trucks which is maybe why it's not listed to fit them.

Kind of odd though that they would be listed the same everywhere for both the regular half ton, up to the LLY HD. Seems odd the HD trucks would have the same cab mounts to me.

Ya not really looking for that.
Maybe I will have to go back to GM parts again. Interested about this upgraded rear mount. Not sure if that's what GMpartsdirect supplies or not. Maybe it will solve my issue.

I hope that works, because I'm not kidding about the vibration. I wouldn't put the energy stuff in anything I drive everyday. Let us know if you solve this problem.

I will. I want to do it while I have the engine and trans out to hopefully see if everything lines up again so might have an update by the end of the month.

Here's the body mount kit for 01-06 http://www.amazon.com/Energy-Suspension-3-4150G-Mount-Chevy/dp/B001EEUVI2 I don't know if some of them may work for you. They don't seem to have a kit for the never trucks.

PACourgar, have you ever installed them on your truck? I read one member liked them as felt he got less body "roll" on his lowered truck. You can adjust the tire pressure in the rear being how the majority of the trucks on this site have absolutely no weight in the bed and makes it easy to "smoke" or break the tires loose and of course rattle and ride rough. Me, I run 80psi back and around 70-75 psi front but I do have a load of about 1400lbs in the bed all the time, and burning the tires, breaking them loose is not an option with the weight but it sure rides nice and handles well..For the most part about 500lbs of sand bags in the bed near tailgate changes how these trucks ride and handle dramatically, so do 1-1/2" front and rear sway bars.

LBZ, the rear cab mounts are for what GM dubbed frame beaming and prevalent in the EC long bed and the mounts have been redesigned for the rear cab mount only, if you're their may as well replace all of them as some have found the mounts were shot and the bolts rusted in place. With the age of the truck and possibly low mileage time to replacing items rubber related, crank and pinion shaft damper come to mind for starters.

Yes, I have them installed on my extended cab. I wouldn't have said anything if I didn't have the first hand knowledge. It's just a warning if you want a smooth ride. By the way, I run 35psi in my backs.

Trust me, my truck handles fantasticly. I just have more vibration in the body now, but I was expecting it. I only drive this truck on the weekends.

I have poly mounts in both of my trucks. yes it does make the ride a bit harsher and adds noise.
As to the same mounts for 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks, All of the cabs are the same on the 1/2 ton to 1 ton. Why would the mounts be different? Mounts are the same, bolts are the same, do the same function and support the same weight. When I was looking for my mount, I noticed the same thing but quickly realized that the cabs all use the same mounting system. I think the mounts on the 1 ton are even the same.

I figured being as the HD and regular 1500/2500 trucks have different frames the cab mounts might be different but I guess not. That said the P/N's for some of the bolts are different from LB7/LLY to LBZ for some reason. Not sure if that is to accommodate updated rear mounts or something else but I will find out when I go to GM and will compare the two.
