I just bought my first boat. Does anybody know of a really good online boating forum? I've found a couple but just wanted to get some more input.

It's a 16' 5" Center Console (Palm Beach) V-Hull Bay Boat, 90 HP Johnson Outboard

Offshoreonly is awesome but tends to revolve around big boats and guys who are well, lets just say in a different income bracket than most of us.

OT but I finally got around to getting mine all ready for the water yesterday. It has been raining almost everyday for the last 30 days here in Maine . I registered it today . Hope to get it in the water by the weekend

Thehulltruth has ALOT of drama unless it has changed in the lat 3 months. Ever since it got sold the quality of it has gone down the tubes. I would check out FLORIDA SPORTSMAN's online forum. It has EVERYTHING boating in it, but watch out for the OT. They are pretty liberal in there OT and use the gang mentality if you don't agree with em.

Funny you should mention that. I dont have a Merc but I would like to know if there are any "mods" I can do to my 90hp Johnson... I've never worked on a 2-stroke so that's kind of new to me.

What year? If it's an earlier style cross-flow you can pump her up a bit, or swap out the powerhead for a 140HP and build it up to about 185HP..

It's a 2002, the last year Johnson made 2-strokes I think...

You could swap it over to a 115 fairly easily I believe. There are a few people out there building them up. that series engine is also called the EAGLE series by many and is already pretty stout to begin with.
