I plugged the ultragage in, it doesn't show balance rates, but it does give boost levels and MAF readings. In park, boost was 0.000 (implied vacuum) until about 1500, it started showing a quarter pound, and was around a half pound at 1700. Mechanical boost gauge agreed.

so basically only smoking while idling based on what little i could see in the videos.

does exhaust smell like oil or fuel?
is it more noticeable cold or warm or the same all the time?
anything coming out of the crankcase breather? pass side front by harmonic balancer area. or even the oil cap?

reason i am so on board this one is because i have the same type of issue kind of, only i have tried multiple things to remedy my issue. i have nothing out the exhaust at idle, just tons of smoke out of the crankcase breather at idle and clears up at anything above idle.
and smoke out of the exhaust at anything above 1/2 throttle, assuming its oil at this point (halfway between black and white color)

Mine smokes at idle, too...esp when cold. But thats b/c of the rebuilt 30% injectors and the tuning. Thats where my thinking comes from.

Magnet....those pics are huge!

When it's smoking heavy blue, I can definitely smell diesel. I didn't check under the hood at the time.

When we bought it, it was doing it the whole time we had it idling there in the lot, both cold before test drive and warm after test drive. But now I can't get it to repeat on purpose, only on accident.
