Well I found freeze plugs in my valley so the pump went bye bye. Took the fill tube off and you can see this weren't so good with the gear either. Now at this point it's looking like I'm going to have to take the engine out at see how bad things really went now that I know the cp3 gear is missing teeth. Crazy thing is this was on tune 3 so I can only imagine how bad it would have been on a bigger tune.

So apparently you are Sean Lindenbergers friend lol. Steve called me today after Sean called him taking about your truck.

Just FYI, if the gear teeth broke, it's likely you have a hurt cam gear and possibly a crank gear. Hopefully it didn't hurt the pin that keeps the cam gear from spinning on the cam.

You can pull the front cover without pulling the engine. Then you can see just how much damage was done.

Here's the only pic I can get. It's almost impossible to get a pic of with my phone of the gears. But you can see the metal shavings and a check ball.

It sucks but hey I knew what I was getting myself into and that's why I payed the PayPal fee. At this point idk if I should even waste my time fighting for a refund.

Probably was an industrial pump.

FYI stock cp3's with 250K+ miles treated me great. Id rather run 3-4-5 stock cp3's before anything modified.

Yeah man we're currently in his garage drinking a beer. Steve did the tunes so yeah it's a small world I guess haha

But being me naturally I just plan for the worst. I bet there are more teeth broken just don't want to turn it over. Sean doesn't really have an abundant amount of tools to tear into it like that and I don't want to take it apart to not find where the broken teeth went. Being in the navy is an unstable life when your in and out at sea so I think my best bet would be to have it towed to a shop some place, just gotta figure out what's the closest and does quality work.

Man this sucks sorry to hear. Definitely made me rethink buying a used cp3 for my new setup..

I mean as long as you buy it from someone who you can trust and know the history about it I wouldn't hesitate to do that. My problem is I didn't even think it would seize so bad that the gear would have more missing teeth than mike Tyson lol. I figured worst case would be trashed injectors but now the rabbit hole got a whole lot deeper lol

Tell seany boy james carter says hi lol.

I would definitely get her to a competent shop. On top of the gear issue is the fuel rail and injector contamination issue. Plan for the worse, hope for the best here.

Think I should tear my rails off? Last time I just used my edge to just see balance rates. They may not be totally correct with that edge I'm not for sure but everything was good when that pump exploded then blew up another 10 miles ltr. Had idle time an took awhile to get to the road so I'd say 2 hours run time on that one.

Ha Sean's too busy drinking IPA and listening to jazz/edm music.

But I guess we will see what happens. I'm going to call PPE and idk any other places in SoCal that do good work, any recommendations from people on the forum?
