Billlet S480

Pretty much set on buying a billet wheel for my S480. Other than install, what have you noticed? Im more concerned of the part throttle EGT's that I see when im under the turbo in the city. Tuning changes have helped, but im thinking a lighter wheel that flows more air will help more.

And just for clarification, the turbo does not need to be rebalanced, correct? Bolt on and go?

Do a billet 83 it was a huge differents from my 475. The machining was like $60 bucks i was like 900 for the wheel and race cover.

No 83 for me. I can already bend my rods at the flip of a coin so no sense in going to a bigger charger that I cant really use. Batmo isnt out of the question either.

Can you buy justt the batmowheel by itself for a S480? I thought you could only get it as a complete charger.

The answer on re balancing very's greatly , Some say as long as the comp wheel is balanced its OK , but when i put a billet wheel in one of our turbo's I have them rebalanced , they are never out far when we have it re-done but it can make a difference between getting 15k or 30k miles before rebuild , with that said I have done several with out a rebalanced just to "test" it and see what happens over long term and so far no issue's @ 5k miles on a S366 and about the same on a few S400's . I would say go with the Billet wheel , it will help a bit but dont expect a huge difference in that area , I would say the BATMO is a better choice but that requires a whole new turbo , you cant get the BTAMO wheels separate other than for stock chargers.
