I've had this charger for a few months now and just wanted to give a little feedback for the folks on the fence about a large single.

I have a Suncoast 1057 converter so I probably have about the worst converter to run with a big single. Its tight and hard to spool off the line.
4X4 boosted launch at the track- I'm learning more and more on how to make this work with my tight converter, so far my best 60' is 1.8X. Ive done some test launches on the street and found that sitting for a little longer to build some EGT's does the trick, around 800 deg. and it builds boost fine and launches very hard.

EGT's towing- I was very pleased and suprised to find my EGT's were very managable. Towing I need to keep and eye on things, if EGT's get up a little on grade I just downshift a gear to cool things off. Also my tow haul mode has been adjusted with higher shiftpoints and EGT's never get out of hand when in tow haul.

EGT's 1/4 mile run- From a dig to 110-115 MPH EGT's just do reach 1200 deg. With my stock charger I could easily peg my 1600 deg. pyro quick!

EGT's daily driving- Driving normally they act the same as with the stock charger. Cruising at interstate speeds it runs cooler. 625 deg. at 75 MPH.

Spooling daily driving- Even with my tight converter taking off from stop lights and just leaving from a dead stop is not a problem, it pulls off quick and clean with no smoke unless I'm on my top two tunes.

Spooling from a dead stop from idle at WOT- From a dead stop and WOT you get what you would expect, a little lag, a little rattle and allot of smoke. It still is pulling suprisingly well progressivly stronger through first gear. When the truck shifts to second, ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE !!! boost emidiately jumps up and tires begin to smoke. They spin until about 50-55 MPH on good dry pavement.

Sound/whistle- I love to hear a turbo whistle but I was worried about an obnoxious noise at interstate speed that would eventually make me want to pull my hair out. This charger is very quiet while tooling around town and accelerating light to mid throttle. Mid to heavy throttle it makes a very nice whistle that progressively gets louder with speed and throttle input. Cruising you hear almost nothing. If you want to hear it whistle, just ease into the throttle it sounds good and not ear pearcing.

I would recomend this charger to anyone that does allot of just daily driving and light towing. With the trans tune I have it works great towing up to 6k, in tow haul you could tow anything but with allot of RPM's. Towing heavy every day could be done with this charger but I think something like a S366 would work better.

This truck is always driven at sea level.

See my sig for other parts included in the install

What elevation are you basing this on? I didn't think spoolup was bad with either a 76 or 71 tight converter also but my truck likes to run pretty warm unless I'm way in the throttle (5600+ feet)

I dont know much about the specs other than it's a .90 ar. Dustin at Diesel Addiction installed it, I pretty much just trusted him to get me the best carger for my needs hopefully he'll see this thread and give some more info.

How much do u believe the billet wheel gave you as far as a plus?
I never had the chance to drive with a cast wheel, but one truck I personally know of had a cast wheel S475. The owner said it was considerably slower to spool and would build only around 32-35 psi of boost. I'm seeing 47-50 Psi.

How does it spool when cruising at about 60mph then rolling into it without downshifting, like when passing? Got any pics handy? Thanks.

Crusing at 60 you can pass pretty good but it doesnt spool well. If you drop to 5th even at 55 it will spool good. I'll try to get some pics up.

A couple pics. The intake in this pic is a 6" from Dustins race truck. My 5" stuff has since come in and been installed.

Forgot to mention earlier, Dustin loaded a trans tune in that raised the shiftpoints a little and also the trans downshifts with less throttle input also so when passing you dont have to romp down on it. About 1/4 throttle and you get a smooth 6 to 5 downshift and the truck starts moving well.

This is nice. I never did like Allison's laziness on the top. Never liked an almost immediate lock when shifting 4-5 and 6 is just slothful on the stock TCM.
