I know this is an old thread.

But can anyone with real world experience answer this question? Regarding the Fleece billet S468 in particular.

I don't have a Fleece S468, but I do have a billet FI S468/87 on my reg cab and I've happily towed 14k several times across most of the US.

Could you give a bit more detail to how it tows please? Like, did you have to raise shift point? Or manually down shift a lot? Will it lug up hill in 5th at say 55-60 mph? Or is downshifting required at that point?

Do you like the top end power it produces?

I've got a billet 468 also but it's the 83.. Not sure what difference that makes but it performs real well.. I've pulled my fifth wheel rv (not sure on weight but it's 36ft long so fairly heavy) and didn't have any problems..

Kiwi, how's the top end with the 83 turbine? Is it a big improvement over the stock charger?

Oh yeah definitely better than the stock charger but it still likes to warm up my egt's at high rpm. I've got a fairly big tune though so I'm sure that's why.

I haven't had towed much and not in hills here so don't have a lot of experience as far as that goes but as long as I can tow in the 1800 to 2000 rpm range it works good. It'll spool up there fairly well.

What do you consider "warm egt's"? Are you still on stock injectors?

Is your turbo one of Fleece's? Or is it the Borg billet wheel?

The top end power is fantastic. I did have to down shift under those circumstances, but I was running a Socal 9100:( I imagine it wouldn't have been nessacary with a reasonable cam.

Yes I'm still stock injectors and when egt's get over 1500 I think that's hot enough and wish it wasn't that high but I know people run them a LOT higher lol..

And I got it all from Wcfab so not sure where turbo came from. It is a Borg Warner though. I kinda though it was from fleece but could be wrong.

I will say that I love how my truck runs with it, still pulls really good at top end like was mentioned..

Thanks for the info fellas. I really appreciate it.

I wonder if the egts are lower with the 87 turbine.

I'm not sure about the lmls, but I know on the older trucks it's almost impossible to keep high rpm egts low with a max effort tune using stock injectors. Twins do the best job of that but they still creep up at high rpms.

I wish some more people would chime in that have ran this turbo and towed with it.

I ran the FPE 72 for a bit. Great power. 11.24 @ 122. 7k lbs. changed my shift points while driving and towed the 8k lbs TT. While towing I would manage the egt's by manual downshifting. You get use to it. Never seemed to be a issue. Fleece had my truck for two weeks in Indy so I drove the suburban with trailer to get the truck and race. Loaded the burb on the trailer and drove the truck back to Arkansas. 10hrs straight with no issues.

I'm not familiar with the 472. Does it use the same 87 turbine as the 468?

How were egts with the 472? Towing, and racing at that power level?

700hp tune 1 towing egt's stayed around 11-1300 65mph. Racing I can't give a honest answer. But it never turns my isspro red warning light on which is set at 2000.
