Anybody using factory hold downs on high HP builds?

Are socals hold downs pretty much the best bet?

Exactly, what's $500 to 10k. I've seen well more than a hand full of melted injector tip cups, as well as ballooned tips.

I've personally had one come out back in the day before billet hold downs and burn a hole into the water port... so what's a few hundred dollars compared to a ported head when its toasted..

I was around 1000hp with stock hold downs and bolts. Never did have a problem with them, just upgraded to billet when things got a little more serious.

I would definitely use them on lly and later engines. If you are really pushing it they will lift the injectors without them.

What about stock hold downs with studs?

Some guys use the stock hold downs and studs but the casting on hold down isn't the greatest. Some are fine, some can bend slightly lifting the injector.
