Lol, define "needed". I put them in mine. With what's all wrapped up in it already I couldn't see not doing it. But, mine is way over built for what I really need.

I had an injector come loose once and got lucky it didn't break. When i built the motor i put a set in. I figure they are cheap insurance when you consider the cost or replacement injectors or worse if an injector comes apart and ends up in the motor.

When an injector comes loose it's generally at full throttle and it torches the head. I was lucky that we just had to double the coppers up and clean the bottom of the cup up but after that I put billet hold downs on. If you don't have the money for it right now it's something that can easily be added later when funds allow.

I'd rather not risk it

this is something i have been very curious on. if anyone with a lly, lbz, lmm has tried using the stock hold downs but studding instead of bolting the hold downs. to me, and i could be way off by saying this, but it seems like if a stock hold down is studded it would hold.
i just think it would take a hell of alot of pressure to break a hold down.

it might just be me being picky about it because of the cost lol but i would like to see some bent ones or any stories of people running a stock hold down thats studded and how its working out for them
