I have a billet 480 that I've been thinking about using as the top charger in a set of triples. My question is what would the exhaust side need to be? The setup will most likely be 480/472x2.

Maryland Fuel Injection runs a 480/87/.9 with a pair of 472/83/1.0 atmo's on their 6.7 powerstroke and didn't seem to fight spoolup problems. Made 1236 before the oil pump exploded and sent shrapnel through the oil toasting the motor and turbos.
I agree, it's definitley ovrrkill.I watched them lose a race last year at MIR because they couldn't get on top of the chargers on the line so..... Either way it doesn't change the fact that there better options that will drive and spool much better that will make plenty of power. I'm sure with where you work you could come up with a few.

On a side note, they were just running single last year.
Only reason I thought about the 480 is because I have it. I'm not opposed to a 472/366x2 setup at all though.
