looking for some info on turbos. looking to use a big single it will be used in my s10 with a duramax it will be race only and looking in the 1000+ hp marks thank you for any info or insight
S475 96 turbine and nitrous :happy2:
I'm running a Forced Inductions S480/96/1.10 T6 with their Gen 4 wheel and Borg's V2 race cover. This thing is an animal once it spools. I'm running a 3400 stall converter and it is definitely required. It's done 1340hp/2200tq and pushed my 7400lb truck to 11.39 sec/126.8mph in the 1/4mi on my second ever pass so it will definitely pick up quite a bit once I get good tires and figure out to properly and consistently launch it.
Was the dyno sheet written in crayon. 126 is closer to 1000

What made you go t6 instead of a t4? I'm running a 75/96 with I believe a 1.0 t4 housing and I can't see the benifit of going t6 single even in a full comp truck.

I oversped my S475/87/1.00 T4 so decided to eliminate that from happening again. I also knew that my main use was sled pull or drag racing and that the loss in spool time didn't matter as the benefit from reducing drive pressure outweighed it.
you would be surprised the amount of comp trucks running t6 and even big hp street trucks. its needed
Yeah that's crazy. I see some people here and there talk 96 turbines on their setups. Seems very few in-between that guys often share anything about them. With my setup I never had the tuning dialed in to match the turbo so I always hated it. But now thats changed and I'm actually happy with the way she dailys. Still a few minor tweaks need to be made but I no longer regret buying this turbo lol
In my experience, you don't want to run a borg 96 tw unless you are on a budget and/or care about steet driving characteristics. An all out setup needs gt50 minimum as a single. A few shops are jamming a gt50 turbine into a borg housing, that's probably worth trying. Especially if valley mounting or space constraints.
