Well i was just wondering this. i know that with bigger injectors your flowing more fuel. but with smaller injectors your increasing timing and pulse width. and the more timing/pulse width you run the more drive pressures you have correct? And Pressure= Heat so am i just really over thinking this. im going to have a built transmission here very soon and trying to think of what my next step will be. Now I think i am understanding what Drive pressures/Timing is but still a bit unclear on Pulse width (thinking its how long the injector stays open) but idk. Mods new to the forum so if in wrong spot move it and lemme know Thanks guys

Don't expect lower egts with bigger injectors and a smaller pulse. Your still putting the fuel in there just in a shorter amount of time.

Your in the right direction. Lowering the pw can help the motor live longer. Some have said that larger injectors have lowered egts but it isn't something discussed often. I'd love to see some back to back tests of stock vs say 40% or 60% overs.

If your building the trans and want more power I'd start with more air then do injectors.

I agree. LBZ stock turbo can't keep up with the stock fuel system. Determine what your power goals are and then start looking into a turbo charger that fits your needs! Something simple like a Danville billet 4094 would be a nice improvement over stock.

The billet 4094 is a nice turbo (used to have one) but when you start pushing it egts will be just as high as with the stock turbo. Seems to be a vvt thing. Twins is the only way!

Meh...... Only problem I see is with towing. It'd be nice to get some input from someone whose pulled 25k+ with a s472 or s475. The more talk I hear the more I'd like to try a s472 but twins are the best of both worlds.

I have grossed about 20k and it did fine even on some grade. I had to keep the rpms up downshifting to 4th quite a bit. I don't tow heavy often but if you do, a big single isn't a good choice. Towing 10k and under is no problem just put her in tow haul and go.

You still on stock fuel? Ever been on a dyno or have an idea what kind of hp your at? What does a 7.81 equal in a 1/4?

i have a s475tct with 60s my 55mph and under average is about 400-450 degrees and my highway speed (70-90mph) egts are about 600-750 and even on my biggest tune wot pulls past 100mph I've never seen it get past 1200 degrees my stock charger would hit 1600+

I can tell you it does run cooler Egts if you have a good cp3 to supply. I had 40s and Egts would bury 2000 degrees by the end of the quarter mile. Swapped to 100s and they might see 1600 now. With 40s I ran a 2500us with 100s it's around 2000us

When I switched from stock inj to 60% inj, with the tune adjusted properly for the same power output, my egts were 3-400 degrees cooler. It made my truck run cooler as well, I know this as it took longer to warm up and it also threw the thermostat below temp code.

My sticks are 80% and stock c holds up fine @ 1800 usec. My race tune is 2750 usec and the rail comes down 3500 psi. Not a great idea to do this I am sure. The truck is still making hp with a 3500 psi drop. One day it will get built motor and dual fuelers. I run around with a 1200 usec tune and truck runs fine and coooooool egt's.:D

2750 pulse width on 80% over injectors and only dropping 3500 psi rail pressure with a stock CP3? You must have the most amazing stock CP3 of all time!

Ya others have said this also. My lb7 looses rail on stock sticks 3200 usec badly. The only reason the lmm is not bent is due to the stock C and detorqued tuning imop.:eek::eek:

Same here. Member on here didn't believes my third biggest tune won't go over 1200 degrees. Cruising is 600 degrees flat and climbs to 8-9k degrees up hills.

2750us? Man my biggest tune with 80 overs is at 2450 and I haven't even ran that tune yet, my number 4 tune, 2250us, won't stay straight on the highway at any speeds. And your on stock bottom end??

Your running a 72vvt, brandon06max is running a fixed 475. Big difference. I do find it hard to believe a vvt turbo pushed hard is only hitting 1200 deg. You sure your prob isn't bad? Where is your prob located? Not calling you a liar, but your probably the only guy with that cool of egts with a vvt turbo.
