What pistons you using, type of rings, compression, rpms, oil type/viscosity, etc..

Do you want OEM specs? My housemate builds motors for a living, I could give you his number. I know he does very little by the book (as the book is designed for OEM parts and usage). Alot is based on application and parts used.

left steve a message.

so far took a ball hone to the cyls and from what i can tell its gonna need a min .030 over. ring ridge is pretty bad and there is a little bit of pitting from sitting for 10yrs or so. i'm leaning towards a .060 over and maybe even a 4.25 stroker crank :D

I love LSX engine's but there is no way it will ever make the low end tq of the old BBC, the advantage to the LSX would be the rev's and durability/drivability. I am pretty biased to the big blocks though

Have you seen what budget 6.0's with a big single turbo do? :)

Yep they make great horse power, and I will be building one here shortly for my 2000 reg cab here pretty quick. I love a high winding LS motor, I have an affection for all GM V8's there is no motor out there short of the d-max that can make the power for a few pennies like the LS motors.

But it can NOT make the LOW end grunt of a big block, turbo a Mark IV and see what you get out of it... I can't help there is a reason my nick name is Big Block...

Come on now Henry:hug: you know you were sprayin the shiot out of it... Part for PArt there is still no replacment for dispacment

Motor for motor we were nose to nose and he was running alot more motor then me. On the bottle I was spraying a 250 kit and he was using the same and I walked him he had to step up to Alcohol and stacked 2 of his 250 kits to just get a 9.99 run out of his 70 nova that was tubed light at 3,100.My poor 79Z28 was a small little 275/60/15 M&H dot and was kinda heavy 3660 even had the old 8 track in it lol and still ran 10.67 @ 133
