The Th350 could last if the truck is light, otherwise, I would go th400

hughes has soem good stuff as well

Hughes is compleat and utter junk! I would give Jerry's kids my moneys before them. I went threw 3 or 4 of there TH400 transmissions in 6 months. Two didn't make it 10 miles down the road of normal easy driving. I was only running SBC with a 3800 stall.

The truck is completely gutted. Gonna lose both fuel tanks in favor for a 15 gallon fuel cell, no bench seat, no AC, nothing lol. So it's light as hell but this motor should make a good amount of torque, and for that reason I am leaning towards the heavier TH400.

Who makes a good torque converter? Non lock up. Camshaft comes on at 3800rpms so something around the 3500-4000 stall range is what I'm looking for.

PTC, Coan are the two non lock up companies I would throw out there, popular companies with the modern EFI crowd.. circle D, Yank, Vigilante, FTI, etc

Coan gets my vote. I have to get one ordered for the dragster tomorrow. Been running one in the doorcar with absolutely no problems whatsoever.

We leave the line around 4500 to 5500 depending on the track. We run in a wet dirt really not really mud. And we run 250 feet and 373 and 410 gears. And we run in 4low. And for reliability we have to rebuild about once or twice a year. But it's mainly just high gear that goes.
