Looks like the current trans I have for my c10 build is not gonna fly. The build ended up getting a lot more powerful then I first planned. So the TH350 is out. Looking for a company that you have had personal experience with that can build a solid TH400, something that will handle 800hp. Also want a reverse manual VB and 4000 stall TC. What are some good companies?

Jakes Trans in TX.

Have they built anything for you before? I am thinking about maybe having the TH350 built, but I'm not sure what can be done to them or if they can be built to hamdle 600-700 ft lbs of torque reliably.

There a little build thread floating around here somewhere. Gotta add more too it this afternoon. I'd really like to run a 700r4 but I think the 3 speed will be better for drag racing.

Gonna stick with a TH400. Can't beat it as far as price and functionality goes. If i planned to DD the truck a bit then I wouldn't be set on the 400

We run 350 in our race trucks. Some with 850hp but we are in mud but we also run 44 boggers. A local guy to me builds them.

I`ve run Hutch glides in 4000lb street cars that run 9`s on dot`s, bullet proof transmissions and a hardcore racer himself. He has a section on yellowbullet.com and is located near my hometown in Ontario so I gotta poke the nod to him. :thumb: Wouldnt be surprised if there is someone in the states with a trans or two of his for sale. Worth the look IMO

I have a few old school hot rodders telling me to have the th350 built for the power. Supposedly it takes 50 less hp to spin the 350 compared to the 400, however this isn't a DD nor a dedicated race truck so I do not want to have to "freshen up" the trans once a year.

What kind of action are you putting the mud trucks through? Assuming its a mud drag truck, What rpm do you launch at? What gears are in the rear end?

Also, what does a TH350 build like you have cost? Just a round about idea...
