We put a set of "bosch" remans in my cousins lb7 late 2012. Have not had a single issue yet. Does this out source only apply to lb7 injectors?
I have only had issues with Pensacola remans in all of the sets I have done. Enough people get rid of their trucks though too so all I can say is I haven't had to replace any other than the Pensacola's. Both sets of Pensacolas I did I had to replace, fortunately one was one of our farm trucks and the other was a relatives so not as big of a deal as it could've been.
I only called to check on the LB7 injectors. If you want to call Bosch and check on the others you can, their number is 888-715-3616. Ironically they actually want you to call them instead of email or other automated stuff like every other company. A real person answers, takes down your info and sends it to the right person. They call back within a few minutes. Nice people, very helpful. Get the Bosch part numbers available for them as well just to keep things clear.
The price difference going through a Bosch dealer versus GM on the LLY and later injectors is not that much different. Especially since many injection shops will test the injectors for free if you buy the replacement from them.
The price difference buying the LB7 ones through Bosch dealers here versus GM wholesales was more than double though.
Mike did you get them from gm? May have still had some actual bosch remans left there using up first hopefully they are good quality though
I'd bet they had enough stocked up that took awhile to get distributed.
I can't say I've seen many complaints so maybe whoever GM has rebuilding them is doing a decent job. Can't be too quick to criticize, but at the same time I don't put a ton of faith in GM parts because enough can be subpar and over priced. A lot of people complain about buying parts for German cars, but at least you get a high quality part 9/10 times.
