Me. I've never mixed antifreeze in my life.

Besides, I pay 3.00 for a bottle of Fiji almost daily, so that really doesn't matter.

Mixing coolant? Aint nobody got time for dat.

The auto supply stores, NAPA, Oreillys, Vatozone only carry the 50/50 mix where I live (more money for them, your money), I knew 100% was available just stumbled on it at Wallymart while shopping with the wife and drug her through the auto section...:thumb:

Mike, I just bought a bunch of straight Dex from the Napa up on 19th and Pinnacle Peak. It wasn't on the floor but they had it in back.

Bastards, and IIRC I asked, that was the NAPA I checked and doubt it was intended for the floor below the front counter more than likely they sell it to the local repair shops and keep it out of retail view....

How often are you mixing coolant? :woott:

I just find it crazy as it takes nothing to mix when you can get two gallons for the same price as one 50/50 at most places. Easier? Oh heck ya!

Just me , But It's Yo money!

I once bought a fifty/fifty by mistake and I didn't need that much coolant but I still brought it back! :D

Tap water is fine, ive never bothered with distilled. Im 99% sure even GM states in the service manual to "do a 50/50 mix with dexcool and clean, drinkable water"

Depends on there you live and the water. The tap water in Socal will trash a radiator. I've seen it several times in equipment when I worked there.

No kidding

Anyone try Evans waterless?
On top of being flammable it also gets very thick in cold weather. I wanted to run it, but its to hard to come by and we have enough issues with water pumps.

Derail...where do you recycle or dispose of used anti-freeze? I have 6 gallons of used dexcool from my engine teardown that I cannot find any place that will take it.

I worked for Toyota for several years their pink coolant takes out waterpumps pretty quick, even though the antifreeze has a life of 100k. That antifreeze made me a lot of money doing timing belt water pump jobs!

I currently work for Toyota and this is 100% ture. DO NOT run Toyota Pink in ur Duramax PLEASE.

I hear it eventually evaporates or soaks into the concrete when you just let it run down the driveway into the gutter. I also hear it's ok to flush down the toilet. ;)
