Best Tow Story Yet

Not sure how many, if any, of you have seen this, but....I couldn't leave this alone.

I've most definitely seen a fair share of idiots, and even done a few dumb things while towing, but this just might be taking it to a new galaxy.

It's a uhaul truck towing a trailblazer which is towing a trailer.

If I had to guess, he probally exceeded the weight of the trailer too. The maximum combined gross is only like 6000lbs on those Uhaul rentals and the trailers alone are almost 4k. They also have hydraulic surge brakes on the tongue...

Seen similar stuff in other states. Usually 1 car or truck towing a car with a pull bar, pulling another. In essence 3 vehicles tied together. Likely coming from auctions and always headed south...

I've triple towed with a 5th wheel and a boat, but I can't get over the fact the trailblazer is on a trailer while hooked up to a trailer.

They only had the front tires strapped down. Nothing holding the back end down.
By the way, truck, 5th and boat are double towing not triple.:thumb:

S10 crew cab with some sort of 5th wheel setup hauling a 18 wheeler trailer box on there trailer. I don't know how the axle in that little S10 didn't explode. :roflmao:

Funny thread. Love it. I use to tow 15k lbs with a goose neck in a half ton. Sorry no pics. It was 1999 lol. But I still tow tandem with the dmax. Any sway in that first trailer doubles the sway in the second lol.

LOL, It appeared to be a salvaged wrecked vehicle.

My first thought was a 4 door El-Camino. Too bad there is no real safety checks in CA like other states have.

They use to have them. I remember when I was younger, in the early 70's, my dad got stopped at a road side inspection. Went through the whole thing. They sure as heck need to have them here again. I see way to many vehicles today that are overloaded, smoking, banged up that shouldn't be on the road.

All that is required to re-register a salvaged vehicle is a Brake and Lamp inspection, A smog check, A weight certificate from a Certified Scale, and a Vin verification.

The tire condition and tread depth are not required to be inspected nore is The Suspension.

I once had a customer that had some type of roll over damage. Needless to say it had a bad ball joint. We even showed her how bad it was and offered to let her come back and pay later after she got payed, She declined and went on her way. I believe she thought we were trying to rip her off. ( it was duly noted that the repair was needed asap and was declined, Even made her sign off on that as well )

Needless to say a week or two went by and it came back on a flatbed...

Now it needed more than a ball joint as the strut was now damaged and I think the lower arm where it dragged on the ground.

She still had to work out a payment plan and she was embarrassed that she declined the repair.
