So what's the best spot to plug in your fuel pressure gauge? I finally found the adapter to check it at the bleed screw on top of the oem fuel filter. I went to Ace hardware and didn't have any luck finding an adapter at the shrader valve by the alternator. I'm going to buy the adapter at the bleeder screw point for now and see what yal believe the best spot is to check.
TIA

I've got mine at the bleeder on the filter housing. I like it since it tells you the pressure coming out of the filter.

Same place as mine, but I have an electric sender for my autometer gauge.

I ordered mine from Alligator, not sure who else has them but I'm sure you could just order one from a hydraulic shop too.

Mine is an autometer electric sender too. I just used a short hose between it.
I don't remember where I ordered mine but it took me a long time to find one that would allow keeping the original bleeder screw.

Ya I just looked at the picture again, I kinda like that feature of being able to retain a bleeder at the top.:thumb:

You can add me to list of folks who use the bleed screw port to hook up a fuel pressure gauge.

Is it safe to use the gauge as an indicator for when to change the filter? I have 2 Stanadyne fm100 filters in parallel before the stock filter. Can I wait till the fuel pressure drops to change it or is that a bad idea?

I wouldn't let it drop too low. If it's more than a 2-3 lbs lower than normal, it's probably pretty plugged up (depending on what lift pump you're running).

I removed the Schrader valve completely. All Season Diesel sells a cap With threaded ports for the fuel pressure sending unit.
