Im considering a few suspension mods. Truck is 2wd and I have raced it a bit but now with the twins I have more power and the truck is overpowering a little at launch. I still tow sometimes so im looking at adjustable Rancho shocks on the truck or as a friend suggested remove 2 leafs and bag it for towing. I could still run ranchos with the bags. Back of the truckis to stiff, need it softer with the slicks. Any advice would be great, thanks.

I'm impressed with the Rancho 9000. Great price and they do a nice job taming front end lift. Night and day over stock shocks

X2. Haven't ran them but will after I get the truck running good. Heard lots of good things about them. Also will be removing overload leafs to see how that helps. My suspension is horrible. I have way to much lift on front end. When you figure out what you are going to run matt let us know how well it works as I will to.

Ranchos do look like a good price, I had planned on changing the front shocks this winter.

Being that you are 2wd you want to do the exact opposite of us 4x4 IFS guys. You want huge weight transfer to help your truck squat. We want little to no weight transfer to make sure our front tires make as much contact with the surface as possible. With that said I would go nothing but qa1's

I have had multiple guys tell me to remount y rear shocks where there almost vertical to the axle. Just a little bit towards the back. I am going to try it this winter. I am just running 2 leaf springs and caltracs but that's still not cutting it. Shock set up is my next mod.

What exactly are you doing now? Slicks but with stock suspension/shocks? No Caltracs (or like).

What does that do? Making the shocks more vertical?

I agree with you except on the shocks being that its a 2wd
you dont need the rebound adjustment on the front like you do on a 4wd & the compression of a rancho is fine for the back
plus the cost of 2 qa1s is the same as a set of ranchos

I sent a video to john at m and h, he said rear end was way to stiff. Anyways this winter I will change all the shocks to adjustable, maybe get rid of a few leafs and add bags for towing. I guess its that or do a 4wd setup which would cost a ton.
