Hi have an 07.5 LMM, towing a 5th wheel camper, 14000lbs, what is the best programmer to use for this, not concerned with performance, just milage. Truck is completely stock. Thanks.

its gunna be tough being that you have a DPF on the truck. sorry i cnat say what programmer will owrk best for you as ive never had to worry about it but i knwo the guys that tune with efi live for trucks with DPFs have issues with trying to keep the truck from regening more than stock since its gunna put a bit more soot in the DPF than stock.

Mileage sucks with the DPF on. I would get a Banks if I were going to keep the DPF on. I have seen the edge in action, the power is decent but the fuel economy while towing is not any better. Ultimately if you want anything close to respectable fuel mileage the DPF must go. That means a "race" programmer even if the tune is small say 35 additional hp. I have heard guy that really like the SuperChip mileage on the older trucks. Don't expect anything near that until the DPF is gone.

Your "race" "non race options" consist of EFI Live (Most User Definable), PPE Race, Edge Race, Quadzilla Race, etc etc with a DPF delete pipe and or some sort of exhaust system.:)

The most I've ever seen with keeping the DPF is 1 mpg over stock with a programming. The only way to add mileage is by using a DPF delete tuner and dpf delete exhaust as said above. The most common tuners we sell for delete kits is the Edge EVO Race or the PPE Hot+2 ET Race. Either of them seem to work very well, both are user friendly, and both will provide mileage gains on their respective tow tunes. We have tons of packages available, give me a shout at the shop tomorrow, and I can walk you through the options we have available.

Thanks,

Chad

I disagree you can make a tune that make LESS soot than stock with EFI with proper tuneing. But you are correct options are limited with the dpf still on the truck,

I beleive PPE makes a duramaximizer for the LMM I have only driven one truck with that installed it was simply a tow pig truck and it felt nice with 18K behind it. Other than that I would recomend KILLING the DPF and getting a real HP TQ jump.
