I'm new to the forum and have done some research on the subject. I want a programmer that will maximize my fuel economy but yet still give me the power I want when needed. Not looking to spend a fortune on this either. What is the best programmer for the money.

What are your goals for the truck? I started with a ppe and couldnt be happier with it, i have efi now but it really depends what you are going to do with the truck and future needs.

Best hand held for a lbz is PPE in my opinion. If your looking to have a customize tune for your needs you can go with EFI.

I had a ppe standard with 4in turbo back on my lbz classic and i got great fuel milage high teens to low twentys in town. It also had plenty of power for what i was doing. I think you d be happy but thats just my opinion.

I liked the edge juice with the overhead moniter it let me switch on the fly had built in gauges,i did garduate to the ppe hot+2 for more power and was happy with that.I think if i had the choice it would be a toss up between the new edge CTS and the PPE both are good units IMO

PPE will work great for what you are trying to accomplish. I used to run PPE and it was excellent. I now run EFI but it was much needed after the mods in my sig. Good luck.

Ppe will do what you need but your gonna need guages. Edge has the monitor you can buy but you might as well go with EFI and have someone tune it cause trust me it's a bug. With my Lbz I always wanted more.

PPE is definately the best canned tuner for the LBZ, but if your looking to save a little money the Dioblo Sport Predator works very good, nets great mileage and can be bought cheap. Also the Predator will give you about the max HP your stock trans can handle.

Ppe rocked my world for 60k miles 75% on the225 tune and the rest on the 300 tune. Don't ask me how my stock trans is after all those miles of pleasure:eek:
