Best lift for boosted launches?

I have always wondered what the best drop shackles for mudding would be? Why put the center of gravity of a fast truck any higher than it needs to be? I would consider smaller tires or a different offset wheel before lifting a 1000hp truck

Unless you like the looks, a lifts main purpose is to fit a bigger tire. But I've seen a lowered truck on 37" mud tires so it is possible just not as much room for articulation :roflmao:

With the right wheel offset and fender mod a 35 is totally doable on stock height.

but the same can be said as to why we put thousands of dollars into a truck to only run 10s when a car would be faster in the end.

Consider a bds 4inch? My buddy has one on his lbz and it's just like a leveling kit. Iirc he has a 2" block in the rear and cvs are slightly negative.

I run a cog ntbd 4-6 with no t bar bolts and a 1.5 rear block and I have about 3/4" rake. Rides great and handles the boosted launches no problems .

Dude the truck is already leveled! I appreciate the humor but come on. I want to keep the stance I have now but improve ride, handling, and was hoping to install a well designed kit that is strong enough to handle some boosted launches? Is it really that hard to grasp? I'm not going lowered period. I already have a lowered lb7.

If my goal was to have a fast truck, I sure as hell wouldn't be in a 7000lb ccsb diesel truck. I like duramaxs and I choose to do this hobby, not because it makes sense, but because it's what I want to do.

If you can't understand why I would want to have a heavy duty truck that looks like a heavy duty truck then I don't know what else to say, to get you to see it the way I do.

at the end of the day, Wade. Id buy a cognito 4-6" lift, keep the stock UCA, do the normal steering stuff, leave the bolts out of the stock keys and set the rear height where you want. Steve has lowering keys in his 4-6" and hes got about 1" negative cv angles iirc. dunno if he has bolts in them or not. ill get his ass on here to give more specs. the ONLY issue is going to be 4wd vib's from the stock driveshaft though steves doesnt seem to vib much.

I tried everything I could think of when I had my CST 4-6" lift kit to get good launches and look decent. Nothing worked how I wanted it to. Now lift is gone lowered and can launch 25psi no problem, As of with the lift, 15psi and would start to hop. Tried straight center link with braces, lowered all the way, down stock, stock keys, all new front end parts yadayada... still nothing compared to how it is now. You are just gonna have to make that sacrifice of a higher boosted launch than you could with out a lift.

there in lays part of your issue. it does not transfer to all lift kits

Either way you can't have the best of both worlds. I have seen and been in other trucks with lifts (other brands) that couldn't launch either.

i beg to differ. you very much can, you just have to know the specs of what you are working with. there are plenty of stock height or lowered height trucks out there that can launch for shit either. i have one of the worse kits out there for drag racing on and i can spin the 37s off at 25psi and up in 4wd. i have band aids in place to make it launch, the cognito kit wont need them

Steves 4wd burnout. 20psi launch and nitrous right out the hole. very controlled even when it starts to finally hook. this is on bilsteins, lowering keys, axle wrap bars, and 420s. his truck will launch hard if he doesnt overpower it lol
