LMM: Best/least amount of mods, way to get my CCSB LMM running 7.50s or better.

The recently released Danville Stg 2 3794 and an S480 twin set-up, 60 over injectors (depending on mileage you may be able to get away with just nozzles), 10mm CP3 or dual fuelers, lift pump, headstuds, fold your mirrors in and pray that your pistons hold together and rods don't get short should get you there.

I wouldn't waste the time and money on studs

Twin over the stock charger. You won't like towing very much with a single s400.

X2, or like I said earlier the 3794/480 combo.
Unless it's a little one. My S464 actually worked better towing as I could load it up better than it did empty. Could have been tuning though too.

Was your 7.81 with a high stall TC? I was thinking about going with a 1056. I pull a 40ft offshore center console with this truck.

At 6800 lbs i ran a 7.57 and 11.84. I had a stroker pump, S475, trans, lift pump and stock injectors. You could probably do it with 45% injectors, compounds and a trans

I'm liking the bmw3794 with race cover from Danville performance. How about that, lift pump, and trans. Will that get me down in the low low 8s?

My boat is over 15k and this is the tow rig. I tow it 400 miles twice a year.

Not to de-rail your thread. But I notice quite a few people mention that twins are playing a role in breaking cranks. Does it at all hold any truth?

Mark says LMM motor with stock LMM injectors and cp3 with all the normal bolt ons it makes 650hp 1200ftlbs and got an [email protected]. In a twin setup with a BMW83 over it we managed 942hp!:thumb: <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Careful which turbo you choose if your planning on pulling that 40' CC. I had issses with the 4094 VVT. I'm not sure on the 3794 as my buddy sold the truck soon after we installed it. You need to talk to Mark about it...

My vote is a 75mm over the stocker or marks new 3794 with a big brother later on... My current setup has the potential for more power but the 4094 is noticeably slower spooling, it tows just fine though... IIRC didn't some lmm's have overboost/underboost issues with the 4094avnt?

I will call mark for sure. I believe the 3794 is the way to go. What are the all small bolt ons that everyone speaks of?

Just the crap you already plan on doing lift pump egr blocker etc... Imop the LMM doesn't need much they run very well with minimal mods.

I had the 4094VVT and towed 10.5k with it quite a bit. It did alright...
EGT's were quite a bit higher than I would've like to have seen and in the end I believe the 4094 was the most of the reason I got a hole in my #8 piston.

I got the hole after switching to the VGT72, but I believe all the time running the 4094 hard and having massively excessive EGT's started the damage.

That being said, I now have a stg2 3794va from Mark, and I'm truly impressed with this charger. Currently I'm running my old tuning for the VGT72 and even with that tuning the 3794 is hands down the best charger I've had!

EGT's are way less than I've seen with any other charger, including stock, I've pushed the big tune a little bit now and I've yet to see the EGT's above 1250*

This charger spools very fast, has a nice broad power curve and delivers a nice hit that just keeps pulling. It hits harder than a 4094 but not as hard as the VGT72 but maintains EGT's better than either ever did.

I can only guess at this point that it will be an excellent tow charger. I can say that the turbine break is far better than that of the vgt72 or the 4094vvt but not as good as a stock turbo. To try and put it into perspective, the stg2 3794va's turbine break in the heavy tow tune is about the same as the stock chargers turbine break in the light tow tune, but like I mentioned, my tuning isn't optimized for this charger yet so that may change for the better...

All and all, I really think that the stg2 3794 is THE CHARGER to have if you're going to run a performance VGT and I really couldn't be happier with it!

It's a tad quieter than the 4094/VGT72 but it has a very defined and distinct whistle that doesn't disappoint, trust me, you'll know it's there

I should also mention that I have a list of bolt on's that I believe contribute to the overall performance of my set up...

Manifolds and uppipes, 3" downpipe, 4" turn down exhaust, 3" y-bridge, EGR delete w/3" cold side, 3" hot side and a BD intercooler...everything is wrapped with header wrap and I'm running Exergy 60's and a built transmission too

Very informative^ thanks man. That stage 2 3794 is a direct no modification drop in right?
