I am wondering what the best stall Goerend converter is for a stock turbo/stock injector/stock pump LB7 is with a built trans for towing and daily driving. I am stuck on Goerend because I have a J (3000rpm stall) currently to send it for a restall to a fit my tow rig.

I have been looking at the Goerend X (1800-1900rpm) or Goerend R (2000-2200rpm). Truck is in sig.

Get the R.

Thank you Mike! I figured as much but wanted advice from someone like yourself with experience in this field.

I know the R is what I usually sell a customer who orders a built trans but have never actually had extended seat time in one. I'm going to be grossing 14-16k trailer weight every weekend towing my puller and want the best I can get.

restalling your J doesnt mean it will become a R. You will need to talk with Dave and make sure it doesnt need more than just a stall change.

I have a G in my tow rig and have no complaints. 63.5 drop in turbo and does great. I tow 24-26k as well.

The G and R are on the opposite sides of the spectrum. The G couples standing still with instant power to the wheels where as the R multplies a lot of TQ off the line.
I had Dave build them both in '10 for my LML to see which would get off the line quicker since there was no tuning back then. It would be a good idea to test drive them both if possible and decide which one fits your need. I personaly don't like tight converters so I chose the R for my use. Different strokes for different folks.:D

I called Marisa (who I deal with for all my dealer purchases) and said there was no problem converting my J to an R. Obviously there is a cost to that but its better than selling the converter for a loss.

I'm taking it out of my built motor large single truck to go to a Suncoast 15031 simply because they are the most proven 4 digit power holding converter.

I would go to the 10532 for a big single! Spools big single's with ease...

I LOVED my G in my lb7. I’d do another in a heart beat on a stock turbo/ twin truck
