I personally use Wix for everything to keep it simple. I also use a wix 51794 oil filter.
Just caught that; That's a big filter !

What about those filter magnets that they make? Worth it? Or is it just a gimmic?

Who knows  I use one, My oil analysis come back good, but who's to say what if any difference it made. I mean the Allison spin on has one so why not the motor ?

I have seen a few suggestions on air filters, whats the best cold air intake. K&N, APE, ect??
S&B would be my pick. supposedly the best filtration
What is the brand of the filter magnet you use? I was looking at the FilterMag RA365. I just talked to them and was told if you have a heavy duty truck, they recommend using the RA series magnets.

I use the older model but yea, the RA from MadJack racing is the recommended unit now

Engine: Mobil 1 or AMSOIL. I don't know if they make them for our trucks, but the high end Purolator filters are supposed to be pretty good from what I have researched.

Trans: Allison OEM w/ magnet

Air: Personally I go for the oil less: aFe dry, AMSOIL ea, etc.

Fuel: Donaldson p551311 2 micron w/ filter head (same as the Cat filter). I also run a 100micron stainless pre-filter before my lift pump because I have no filterhead up front and run the Donaldson after my lift pump (still on frame by tank)

Amsoil EAO for the engine oil filter. There isn't even a close 2nd.

Air- OEM is the best, for efficiency (flow without sacrificing particles allowed through)
Oil- OEM is best. Stay far FAR away from FRAM. Aftermarket (AFE, Amsoil, etc) are a big old waste of money and some aren't even as good as oem.
Trans spin-on- Allison OEM (Not GM, which costs $35+ at dealers); should be ~$7-8 at Allison dealer
Fuel- NAPA Gold (Wix)- much cheaper than OEM and just as good

air: aem
oil: amsoil with an ra450 filtermag on it (if you dont think it catches stuff, cut your filter open and find particles still stuck to the can after you have removed the magnet and washed the can)
fuel: big 1 micron nicktane and small 1micron nictane(stock location) both have ra450 magnets on them.
too bad nic doesnt carry the large 1 micron anymore, i guess ill be going to the 2 micron cat when its time to change it
trans: wix w/stock magnet
