I use the Duracell ones from Sam’s . Only $127 and 2-3yr free replacement . Best part you don’t have to deal with leaking acid.
Cat batteries hands down held up the best in Alaska. Temps as low as -55f to 88f. It’s all I run, TBSS and the Dmax.
All new optimas are inferior to the ones made 10 years ago. I had a set of red tops last almost 12 years.
In all reality there are only really 3 battery manufactures in the world and all agm batteries are made the same way so you really can't go wrong just find one that has at least a 3 year warranty.
East Penn = quality batteries
I use them, Northstar agm or Oddessy only. I sell ALOT of batteries so I'm picky about what brands bc I hate getting a call back on one. I think I sold a little over 400 last year...:spit:
It looks like the Deka East Penn AGM 30 month free replacement 9A78 for $175.51 , picked up at one of their warehouses , looks like a good one , 775 cca ! Manufactured in PA ! Or their lead acid 778 series 30 month 800 cca for $105.22 !
I run Napa agm batteries. Get a good price on them through work and they're made by Deka for napa.
If you are familiar with batteries do you have any idea what is the biggest Odyssey battery I could fit in the stock drivers side tray would be?
I had a powerstroke . I put everstart in they failled. I put two optima yellow top they failed . $400 dollars waisted . thought something was wrong with chargin system changed altenator . glo plug relay thinkin it might be that draining them wasnt those things either. Finally went with interstate workaholic cured all ills made the battery gauge go even higher than when the truck was new and I sold the truck a year ago and they are still good after six years . When I purchased my first cummins used batteries went out bought insterstate they are doing great too.I also have 2 Red Top's https://mechanicguides.com/best-batt...diesel-trucks/ in my truck they are 2 years old. We get very cold weather here I have never had a problem with them. In fact, my wait to start light has always been faster and it cranks faster than the original batteries. I gave a 9 year old red top to my friend with a old Cougar, its still works like new. One of the biggest problems people have with batteries is they don't replace both at the same time. You need matching batteries otherwise one will be pulling more current all the time. I have heard of the people having issues with red tops but it is a misconception, most of those problems were related to poor cables and or grounds.
