Question: Best 60’ on a street/strip truck

Whether you run it on street tires or put race tires on it for the track . By street truck I mean a truck that isn’t gutted out . Like bed of truck removed and or all the dash ,door panels and glass removed in leu of lexan etc . Still running a heater and AC system. THIS IS JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY. I’m hoping to get mine in the 1.3s this year if all goes well . THIS IS JUST A TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION.

I guess you need to start a separate thread for that then . Nothing wrong with some weight reduction as long as it’s not just the skins hanging off the truck and or that it looks like a straight up gutted out race truck with no creature comforts. Nothing wrong with lighter wheels and tires , single battery etc . Not sure why your trying to bust my chops on a simple thread I put up for discussion. I guess it’s aimed at me since I went with a short bed . I’ll say it again I’m not here for drama . I set up the thread with parameters I feel make a street truck .

I went 1.55 with stock shocks and caltracs on 305/50/20 Yokohama’s back when I had a stock turbo and nitrous. I feel like the converter has a big effect on 60ft because now with my 3500 stall I think my best 60 has been like 1.62

The funny thing is it seems the heavier trucks 60 better without alot of suspension work. The lighter mine gets the less bite I have on the track.

My best 60ft was after shedding 900lbs and good track prep. Squeezed out a 1.47 on Rancho 9000's, stock torsion setup, and heavy dom track bars. Definately a gutted scenario though.

Best 60’ to date for the 05 is a 1.67 6800 ccsb rancho 9000 caltracs 305/50r20 proxes overload removed. Excited for the track to open and test some settings Rob and I came up with.

1.59 best, usually low 1.6x,

6450#, Toyo Proxes tires, T-bars lowered, QA1 adjustable shocks on front, caltracs.

I used to have fun jumping out on faster cars, making them say, "wtf?!?"

I hear ya Albert , tracks are open here already but I’m having to fix some issues I’m having but hopefully in the next several weeks I can get it back to the track

You can sure see how bad that exhaust manifold gasket was leaking in that screen shot.

1.623 6800# nitto 420 305/50/20 heavy 2'' 1/4 dom traction bars yellow bilstins all around no t-bar bolts. rear shackles moved up 3''s

coker... removed bed, fenders etc. but kept the tow mirrors on it. :spit: Should've left em on and extended them all the way out like the Dodges. :roflmao: :woott:

We didnt want to let all 50hp loose on the track, so we kept the tow mirros in for only 25hp. Lol

Those manifold gaskets were garbage at the end of the day. Sounded like an old worn out small block Chevy trying to drive home.
