my 2005 2500 duramax is running on a 6 inch full body rcd suspension lift and the stock tie rods have just about had it. So it comes time for me to choose should i beef up the tie rods and centerlink or should i just shell out some more cash and do the straight axle. I don't have much of a money limit but i just need some opinions and i'd like to know what all i'm gonna need to maintain my 6 inches of lift and be a happy camper. thanks guys i appreciate the help! :)

I would just beef up your existing front end. A lot of the guys here including me beat the living shit out of our front ends and they live....within reason:D Now if you do a lot of hard core offroad I could see doing a SFA swap. Some good tie rods, centerlink and a little common sense goes a long way;)

I have not been able to break my Fab-teck tie rods. I'm done with IFS. If you stick with it, I would keep some spare CV axles with you. Just about everything broke on my front rough country

SAS 78 Dana 60 snowfighter starting Monday Monday Monday.

And then it will be all about horsepower.

I'm thinking I might swap the rear axle too.

There are many on here running big hp #'s reliably with IFS. If you put in the right components the front end has been proven to be way reliable. :thumb:

Does not ever being able to keep a front end alligned mean anything to anyone? I'm going solid too soon. Sick of wearing high priced tires out  and replacing parts.

I'm leaning more towards just beefing up my tie rods but now comes the to ask, what parts do i need, brand suggestions, what pieces are involved?

There are many out there. I like Moog problem solver Idler & Pitman arms, Raybestos Tierods with Ppe Billet Sleeves. There are SD Center Links or PPE Billet Center Links. There are Supersteer or Kryptonite idler arm pivot's and weld in gussets. There is also a complete Kryptonite front end kit.

There are many vendors on the site that will hook you up with parts & probably chime in and give you the pros and cons of which route to go. Good Luck!:thumb:

Get a hold of Henry with Creatures of the night Performance or Dan with PPE. They have been very helpful for me. Good luck!:D

you think i should go with the krytonite front end kit and my the moog problem solver or just buy some kryptonite tierods and then a ppe center link and also the moog problem solver?

60 upfront! I could never get lucky enough with all the bandaid IFS upgrades to keep mine together running 38x15.50's. True a lot of guys keep theirs together making a lot more power than me.

I always seemed to sheer the stud off in the steering knuckle. I am linking my front and rear atm heres a link if you want to see what could all be involved if you do a setup like mine.

Best of luck either way you go but you can't go wrong with a 60 :)

Its really preference. If you want to be solid and loose a bit of steering Solid Centerlink like SD or PPE along with a good set of Tierods Moog or Raybestos, a set of Sleeves there are many to choose from I personally use PPE. Then go with the moog problem solver idler and pitman arms along with supersteer idler pivot and weld in brace. As long as your Ball Joints are good this is a stout combo. The other route would be to go with Kryptonite all the way. I have a buddy who has done this on a one ton dually and he claims he lost alot of turning radius also? Hope this helps.:woott:

I don't have much of a money limit

When you said not of a money limit I figured linking front and rear with a really clean kit would be what you were looking for :) All these parts cost about the same as a SoCal stroker motor kit :)
