Stg 4 or stg 5 rebuild kits are decently priced. Or search around your area and see if there are any reputable shops. And a good torque converter. Hit up some of the vendors on here for pricing:thumb:

I never had a problem with my BD turbo. Back in early 2006 when I ran the BD, I was running 12's at 106-107mph (even with bad 60' times) in my 7680lb crew cab, fuel only, stock injectors.

I think there are more modern/up-to-date alternatives nowadays, but in its time, the BD was a great turbo IMO.

Give us a call , we have plenty of options and can go over all the differences between the turbo kits out there and how all the difference come into play and what the advantages each of them have , we can also help out with the trans parts if you in the market for those too . Trent 801-599-3922

might want to fill out your signature so we can see what you have.

Do you have a lift pump? better build your trans or your right foot will be getting you in trouble real quick with the trans if your not ready for it.

I just got the II s 366 from Darryl at creatures and its an awesome turbo will be getting tuning and hitting the dyno soon after some gauges install and i need to get my co-pilot working again

I have a BD supermax in my twin set up, and I ran it for a single for a few months I loved it. I picked up an additional 50hp and 100ft lbs on Dunbars dyno with the PPE hot plus 2. And i got a smoking deal through David at DTS, give him a call hes got several other turbos at great prices too.

I skimmed through but am I seriously the first one to think that a turbo upgrade is a complete waste of time for this guy? I can think of a handful of reasons to not buy ANY turbo for your truck:

  1. With the Edge it is going to throw codes when you get rid of the stock variable turbo.
  2. You are no where near the power potential of your stock turbo.
  3. Going to this turbo when you don't have the supporting mods is only going to make you have a more laggy turbo, with little or no more power than you currenty have.
  4. You need a built trans to handle what your truck can put out with just a good custom tune.
  5. You need a lift pump (and built trans) to get the most out of your stock turbo.

The Edge Juice might have you at what 400 rwhp? With strictly tuning you could be up around 500 rwhp. Throw in a lift pump and you could easily be 540+ rwhp on a stock turbo. Either way you need a built transmission to handle it - that would be a much wiser place to spend your money right now than a turbo upgrade. For power custom tuning would be the best investment. For towing being able to have a "turbo-brake" function from the stock variable turbo is really nice.

We have done as high as 604 rwhp on a stock LLY turbo. Granted it had a lot of other modifications to get their, but it shows that you are no where near the full potential of what you have.

Alright what type of lift pump should i be looking at? What stage of trans upgrade should i be going with and what other supporting mods should i be looking into? I will leave the turbo stock as it seems thats best. I appreciate everyone time and effort. After installing a lift pump do i need tunning right away? Who should i be looking at for tunning?

X2 id call Trent and nail down your final goal for the truck and what exactly you use it for and he will steer you towards the right mods and in what order they should be done.

We sell Fass or Airdog lift pumps and we have pre tuned ecm's or a special on Efi v2 with dsp5 switch and 5 basic tunes from Bobo for 899.00 + shipping. We also offer suncoast trans or ppe built trans both built or as kits.
