Good, decent or complete waste of money? Been searching and found only old posts from 2009 to 2011. They anything to consider these days?

Kind of the same answer I'm getting from everyone else lol. I wouldn't even consider it but ran across what seems to be a smoking deal on one. But I won't waste time or money if they aren't up to parr.

I just saw that on df also. From the little searching I did on Google I decided the risk isn't worth it. For as much as he's asking and how he posted it for 3300 and 7 hours later he dropped it 500$ and he now has somebody make me a good offer. Just seems fishy to me. I'd rather invest that chunk of money with a known builder and have it built so I know what's been done to it .

Yeah I been talking with him. Just don't know the history of bd allisons. Searching shows nothing. Figured if they made a decent trans I'd grab it.

I'm passing on it. I find it funny that a company can produce garbage products and still be in business for this long. I'm going to pass.

Offer core price. Then see what it takes to blow it up

If it is the same one I saw it as well. Looking at the cut out picture posted from BD the spring plates look stock. If that cut-a-way picture is how they are build I would pass too.

The spring plates are stock, but the pistons are modified with a flat aluminum insert to even up the apply.

Sorry Didnt mean to be so harsh just don't have a lot of respect for a company that will never admit fault for failures we are all human and can screw up own it and move on but they cost me about 10k in various trans & fuel system problems that i Ate because i didn't expect my customers to, not fair to them as i suggested them because of being in the same province. They really cater to the older 5th wheel puller crowd and they really do not innovate anything but they love to steal ideas and call it there own ask Braden Fleece on his Allison Tap shifter that they promoted as there invention...:banghead:

No. It harsh at all. That's the info I was looking for. It still has 2 years left on the warranty but if they don't back it up its not worth having a warranty at all.

Is this the same "BD Diesel" that has marketed diesel products for many years, including the Powermax turbos or someone that who opened a shop with close to the same name, trying to increase their business thru confusion about the name?

Remember the failed cam bearings that ruined some engines because of their turbo set up? Same guys. Don't think they took responsibility for it either. Reminds me of a certain persons billet rods that took a shit.
