so BB loging is a select few PIDs that can be viewed ad saved at at time and BB recording a full lineup of PID's that can be saved from what it sounds like yes?

I hope so. That is the "holy grail".

But if the logging works well, it would really help me out alot. I have so much hassles keeping a computer in the truck while racing. I already busted one computer at the track, and will probably break more.

I don't have any trouble with BBL I've never logged with a laptop. You must be to busy Pat I've been using BBL for 6 months or more. Its not fully integrated, but once you set up your pids its only a small hassle to up/down load the stuff on the V2. I think Cindy said BBF will be out in a week or so of BBR if it goes well.

I used it a bunch with the V1, and a few times with the V2, but various computer issues made it an unreliable system for racing. Not EFILive's fault, mostly me making a mistake, Windows screwing up, and notebook battery issues. Given the opportunity, I'd rather leave the notebook at home.

It amounts to removing things from the system. If you have 10 things that could go wrong, having 9 is more betta. Life was grand when I was running 13's in a stock Camaro. Now life is exponentially more complicated. At least a hundred things could go wrong now. Paperwork, safety equipment, programming, turbo selection, transmission, gearing, tires, weight, procedures, logging, driving, fuel, transportation, accomodations, etc, etc. Anything that can streamline things is a blessing.

Black Box logging with the V2's has been quite stable for some time now. I don't know about BBF being out in a week or so though; While it'll likely be "close on the heels" of BBR, I'd suspect it's a few weeks out yet as it's not out for beta testers yet. Just a guess though.

so would be safe to say that BBF (black box Flashing ) would be coming soon? :D

Paul posted this update on our forum around 2 weeks ago. Now that BBR is in pre-release he can work on finalising BBF

Cheers
Cindy

During the beta test, a bunch of errors were found in the release candidate for BBR (Black Box Reading). Those errors are being fixed and a new release candidate will be built. If that passes testing then it will be made publicly available. I expect that to happen before end of Sep.

BBF (Black Box Flashing) will be entering beta testing once BBR testing is complete. BEcause BBF and BBR share 95% of their code the BBF testing should be relatively error free (but Murphy's law will most likely prevail).

I'm planning to have BBF ready before SEMA which means it should be ready by end of October.

Regards
Paul

I know I had problems with BBL not displaying all of the logged PIDS when I would play it back on the PC. I asked about it on there forum and was told that it was known and was to be corrected when BBR was released as well as some other known issues they said. I'm really awaiting BBR and BBF so I can get the old lady off my back about using her laptop for a few hours a day to go play.
